Has this EVER happen before ?

Sam Horsfield, an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, won his second tournament in three weeks. “That’s nice but definitely has happen before, correct?” And, the answer is “Yes”, but only one person, Seve Ballesteros, won 2 out of 3 times he teed it up in succession while missing the cut in the tournament in between. HOWEVER, from what I can find out, Horsfield is the only golfer that has done it over a period of three consecutive weeks. In other words, win, missed cut, win in back to back to back tour events. And, perhaps, a more interesting thing, is the European Tour is playing this…

    Bag Tags

I truly don’t remember when I started buying bag tags, sometime around 71 or 72, but I do remember why. As I have stated in other post, at that time I was taking lessons under L B Floyd, and became a disciple of “not falling in love with one course but developing a traveling game that would hold up on any track”. Scorecard pencils

We all do it every time we play golf , at least prior to COVID 19. It may be already on the cart or perhaps we grab one at the counter when we check in. Whatever the case, the pencil with the course stamped on it, is something I can never remember not using while playing golf. Ever thought about what happens to it at the end of the round; more likely than not, it’s left on the cart. I guess since I always walked when I played back in the day, mine ended up in the bottom of one of the pockets in my golf bag. When I started…

    Ball Markers

Perhaps, it was because when I first started playing, a ball marker was attached to every golf glove I brought, then sometime in the early 70s, I started using a special coin to mark my ball. Whatever the case, when I started going thru my old bags, there was only a few ball markers found deep inside one pocket of an old Burton Golf Company bag.

    A Treasure Trove of Memories

Although after reviewing this category, it may be hard to believe, but I was never a collector of golf memorabilia. With that being said, over the course of years, things ended up in my bag; pencils drop in after a round; scorecards kept to review the stats of fairways, GIR, U/D (ups & downs) and putts; and in an effort to keep our bags together, bag tags of courses frequently played as part of a traveling group of “gamers”. When I rediscovered the game in 2014, I also, discovered a treasure trove of items long stored away and forgotten. And, one that brought back a flood of memories was the…
