Grown Man Cry
In the late sixties, while station in England, I had a caddie whose favorite “go to” saying was, “if you play this game long enough, it will make a grown man cry”. However, at that point in time, I did not grasped the real meaning of those words. Being fairly new to the game, my focus was on the execution of hitting the ball, thinking mastering that was all that was required to play good golf. Has this EVER happen before ?
Sam Horsfield, an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, won his second tournament in three weeks. “That’s nice but definitely has happen before, correct?” And, the answer is “Yes”, but only one person, Seve Ballesteros, won 2 out of 3 times he teed it up in succession while missing the cut in the tournament in between. HOWEVER, from what I can find out, Horsfield is the only golfer that has done it over a period of three consecutive weeks. In other words, win, missed cut, win in back to back to back tour events.
